Coronavirus: SIBA keeps delivering. More information ….

COVID-19: SIBA remains calmly vigilant after reopening

SIBA remained able to ship orders during the lockdown. After the government gradually eased restrictions, SIBA’s production and sales proceeded with the same reliability that our customers have become accustomed to. However, SIBA will remain vigilant and adapt its anti-COVID-19 measures to changing conditions. After all, the virus has not gone away. To learn more about our response to the pandemic:

Production break from 6th to 17th of April is finished …

… and SIBA has reduced the risk of infection among staff working in production. We have optimised internal processes at SIBA in order to maintain productivity under the current circumstances (details see next paragraph). We succeeded to process orders and queries with only minimal delay, if any.  We appreciate your understanding should any delays have arised or will arise and thank you for your continued trust in us.

Optimising internal processes…

… by protecting working places with acrylic glass partitions and customizing recreation areas. In this way it will be possible to provide the minimal distance of two meters or keep employees separate from each other. Additionally SIBA has closed passageways and assigned restrooms to certain worker groups to avoid being too close together. Greater physical distance has also been achieved by staggering shifts and breaks and adding extra shifts in the production areas, and by staggering the work hours in our technical and administrative offices, as well as increased use of teleworking.

Even better protection amongst ourselves…

… by providing all of our employees with protective masks and by providing additional protective glasses to those of our employees who want this. Furthermore SIBA is distributing additional protective gloves to the staff working in production – if this is allowed by the general rules of health and safety of workers at work. Disposable gloves and disposable protective masks for external guests are completing the protection measures.

Increasing employees’ awareness...

… by sharing information and advice on social distancing, proper conduct and hygiene as well as eye-catching posters and the latest updates on COVID-19 through bulletin boards and postings. Supervisors and members of the works council, too, will constantly remind staff of this.

Stepping up prevention and hygiene measures…

… by shortening daily cleaning intervals and the use of disinfectants especially in critical areas such as social and meeting rooms, sanitary areas, kitchens, copy rooms, door handles, etc.

Robust travel restrictions…

… by eliminating all non-essential business travel, particularly with an eye towards larger crowds typically found in air travel and at trade fairs.

Enhanced use of telecommunication tools / online meetings…

… in order to minimize face-to-face appointments and meetings as much as possible.

Close monitoring of our employees…

… for signs and symptoms of oncoming colds, of travel returnees and persons with pre-existing conditions as well as of persons being suspected of having been in contact with coronavirus-infected people. To be on the safe side, SIBA is prepared to exempt employees from work duty even if quarantine orders have not been issued by the relevant authorities.

Reducing the numbers of external visitors…

… by restricting visits to the absolute minimum and only after self-disclosure by visitors on individual risks relating to coronavirus infection.

Any questions?
