Participation in sustainability rating portal “EcoVadis” – performance in the better half at the very first attempt
A Bronze medal at the very first go: Fuse manufacturer SIBA has subjected its sustainability strategy to assessment by the international CSR rating enterprise EcoVadis – and achieved a highly respectable outcome at the very first attempt, with the testers awarding a Bronze medal.
EcoVadis is not just anybody. After all, some 75,000 business enterprises now have their performance in the field of sustainability rated by Ecovadis, making the platform one of the world’s leading providers, with services used by multinational corporations, among others. Their aim is not only to check themselves, but also to see how far their suppliers have progressed with their own sustainability strategies.
For anyone wanting to participate, their sustainability performance is rated by the experts at EcoVadis on the basis of 21 criteria in four theme areas (Environment, Employment & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement). A medal is only awarded to participants who number among the better half of those rated. Moreover, a low rating must not occur in any of the four theme areas.
And we are pleased to report that SIBA has comfortably taken these hurdles. Among other reasons, we presume, because sustainable management has a long tradition at the family-owned business. After all, the company has its roots in the resalvaging of used fuses, and in the 1990s, SIBA was one of the co-founders of the NH-HH Recycling Initiative.
