Raw material shortages and rising prices can also trigger unexpected movements in the field of material price indices. Thus, with no prior warning whatsoever, Schutzvereinigung DEL-Notiz e.V. has ceased publication of its metal quotations, including the DEL copper quotation, with effect as of 14 February 2022, despite the importance of these indices for the industry.
SIBA must therefore inform its business partners that it is now no longer able to evidence its metal price surcharges on the basis of the DEL quotations.
Instead, SIBA will in future reference a corresponding copper quotation issued by Westmetall GmbH & Co. KG and published as “Kupfer WM-Notiz” (WM Copper Quotation). Westmetall states that this is based on the same parameters and computations as the DEL quotations used hitherto and will continue them analogously for the time being.
This means that SIBA can continue to provide substantiation for price surcharges in the accustomed manner, and we kindly ask our business partners for their understanding for this change at such very short notice.
