SIBA organised a successful vaccination drive for its employees, thanks to close cooperation with Lünen public services.
Around one hundred members of staff participated in the vaccination campaign that was organised by fuse makers SIBA during the summer months. This initiative alone meant that about one quarter of the company's total workforce of 433 have now been fully vaccinated, as the campaign comprised two vaccination sessions – one in June and one in July. As staff members were also able to make their own private arrangements outside these dates, the total quota of fully-vaccinated employees has now risen to about 75 percent. The offer of vaccination not only applied to core staff but also included student workers, apprentices and trainees as well as field staff working in the sales offices. And this also met with a good response, with two members of the sales team being prepared to travel quite a distance to get to the SIBA vaccination point.
The summer campaign saw SIBA team up with the Lünen public authorities, who provided vaccination facilities that were right next door to the SIBA plant. The vaccinations were carried out by staff from the Westfalen Mitte occupational health centre, whose Kamen branch also provides medical officers for SIBA. The medical personnel were supported by volunteer helpers from the SIBA workforce who were there to act as first-aiders – just in case. Thankfully they were not called on to intervene as both sessions proved to be incident-free.
